WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR

For Razormoon

Chapter I

FALLING STARS

Starscream stood in the main control room, his feet shifting nervously. He was in the Cyber-doghouse yet again and he knew it definitely wouldn't be the last time. Part of him was afraid of what Megatron had in store, the other part said 'been there, done that ... What else is new ... hurry up, Meggers, haven't got all day...'

Megatron grabbed him roughly.

Uh ohh ... here gooooes...

"You idiot!" the Decepticon Leader yelled. "And don't bother telling me that it wasn't your fault..."

"Well it wasn't."

"What did I just say?!"

"Okay ... okay ... I was talking to Razormoon about our mission and-"

"Talking. Uh huh."

"Yeah ... well whispering so the Autobots wouldn't hear us... and their blasted Sky Spy spotted us."

"Their Sky Spy spotted more than just 'whispering'."

Starscream swallowed. "Ah."

"Ah indeed."

"Well ... I ... I ... uhh ... got a little ... distracted and ..."

"What you and Razormoon do in your own time is your own business, but on duty I expect you to behave accordingly."

"Yes, Mother."

Megatron grabbed him again. "This is no joking matter Starscream! The Autobots discovered you and Razormoon because-"

"All right! So we kissed..."

"I know. I saw."

"Figures." Starscream tried to hide his embarrassment.

"You not only bungled the mission - you're an embarrassment! It seems you're unable to put your duty above your passions."

"I'm Sorry, Megatron," Starscream said, pretending to be polite. "It won't happen again."

"That's not enough, Starscream."

"So sue me."

"I'll do more than that--"

"Ohh ... I don't like the sound of that ..."

Megatron smiled, but not a pleasant one. Starscream became worried all of a sudden - more worried than he was before.

"What about Razormoon?"

"I'm going to reprimand her."

"If you hurt her, I'll-"

"You'll what?"

Starscream stopped. "Nothing."

Megatron looked unconvinced. "I don't like your tone, Starscream."

"And I don't like yours!"

Megatron whacked him. "You disgust me - you fail an imperative spy mission because you were smooching your lady love! And then you have the gall to insult me!"

"Cool it. I'm sorry, all right? What are you going to do to Razormoon?"

"Oh, you'd like to know wouldn't you?"

"Megatron..." Starscream's tone suggested he wasn't in the mood for taunts.

The Decepticon Leader smiled. "She will receive the same punishment as you. The Decepticon Cause surpasses one's personal desires - even my own."

"I know and I'm sorry." Starscream thought he'd try a different tactic. "Where's Razormoon?"

"In her quarters."

Starscream started to leave.

Megatron clamped his hand down on the Jet's shoulder. "Not so fast. You haven't been informed of your punishment yet."

"Uhh, do I want to?"

Megatron half smiled. "Probably not."

"Can it wait until after I see Razormoon?"

"No," Megatron was starting to get irritated again. "You and Razormoon are forbidden to see each other."

"What?!"

"You heard. Oh and you'll love this, one more thing. I've chosen Razormoon to be our exchange to Cybertron."

"But I'll see her before she goes, won't I?" Starscream sounded worried. "When does she leave?"

"Two days from now and no, you don't."

"You ... Nice Leader ... Very Nice Leader ..."

Megatron smiled. "Nice try."

"How long will she be gone?"

"That depends."

"On what?"

"On how long I need her there. A year at least."

"WHAT??!! You mean I can't see her for an entire year!!??"

"I said I want her on Cybertron for at least year - perhaps longer - and that doesn't mean you'll get to see her the second she gets back."

"This isn't fair!"

"Not fair? You both deserve to be punished."

"Fuckin' hell. Can't you just blast me?"

"All right." Megatron aimed his cannon.

"Hey! I meant Instead of forbidding contact and sending Razormoon to Cybertron."

"No, but I'll blast you anyway just for the hell of it." Megatron fired.

Starscream swerved, the blast hitting the wall.

"You're getting good," Megatron said, but it was hardly a compliment.

"Lotta practice."

Megatron couldn't help but smile.

There was a pause before ... "Megatron ... you have to let me see her before she goes ... Please, I-"

"You know what the answer is."

"Oh, thank you, Megatron, I won't forget this... I love you very much..."

"Starscream ..."

"Ohh ... please. I -"

"The answer is no."

"Come on ... please just-"

"No."

"You can't do this!"

"I think I just did."

Starscream bit back a caustic remark - just in case he could salvage this moment. "Megatron," he said calmly. I regret what happened and it was our stupid fault, but I desire to see Razormoon once before she leaves. Please."

"Stop trying to be polite. It doesn't suit you."

"Just once please ..." Starscream was getting desperate. "I'll do the energon inventory and a weapons check and I'll even clean the-"

"Stop groping. It's pathetic. I said no and that's final. And you can do the inventory and a weapons check. Thank you for offering."

Starscream scowled.

"Ask me again about Razormoon," Megatron said, "and I might suspend contact indefinitely."

"You wouldn't! ... Come to think of it, you probably would..." Cyber-pig.

"Don't disappoint me, Starscream."

"Who am I to argue with the Great Almighty Magnificent Megatron?"

"Don't push it."

"Okay, okay ... I have to tell Razormoon about this, I mean she doesn't know-"

"I'll inform her. I trust her conduct won't be as pathetic as yours."

"Fine." Starscream knew now that no amount of grovelling or pretending to be nice would change Megatron's mind. "Go and tell her. I still think this isn't fair and I don't give a bugger what you think. Of course I'll obey you, Leader, it's not like I have a fucking choice."

"There's a good boy."

"Go blow it out your CPU."

"Now, now, Starscream .... I was actually considering letting you say a final goodbye to Razormoon, but now you've blown it."

"Yeah right. Liar liar fusion cannon on fire."

"It will be in a moment."

Starscream folded his arms and scowled. "You weren't going to let me see her and you know it. I'm not gonna take your bait, so there."

"Damn. I was rather hoping for an encore."

"Bastard!"

"Don't make matters worse," Megatron warned.

"How could it possibly be worse than-"

At that moment, Star Ruby entered the room. "Hello, Boys, what's up?"

They both turned to her.

"I see... Something private. I'll come back later." She turned to leave.

Starscream grabbed her desperately. "Sis ... you gotta talk to him..."

Star Ruby looked at Megatron, then turned to her brother. "What's he done now? ..."

"Your boyfriend is being a complete and utter smeg head," Starscream scowled. "As usual."

"Don't push your luck, Starscream," Megatron growled.

"What luck?"

Megatron almost smiled, but stopped himself.

"Sis, what would you do if you were never allowed to see Megatron again?"

"I'd say Meggie punished you for blowing the mission with Razormoon and isn't letting you two see each other."

"For a whole year!! Maybe even longer - he said so himself." Starscream put on his puppy dog eyes. "He might never let me see her again ..."

Megatron rolled his optics. "I never said never."

"Oo! That makes me feel soooo much better..."

"I could always-"

"Stop it now, you two. Meg, you could at least let them have a final goodbye. That's not asking too-"

"No" Megatron almost hissed. He didn't want to get angry with Star Ruby. She seemed to be caught in the middle and this was hardly her fault, he mused. "If I made an exception for everything what would be the use of punishment?"

Star Ruby knew he was right and when he had his mind this made up ... She sighed. "Screamers, I can't reverse his decision - you two were in the wrong."

Starscream scowled. "Thanks a lot, Sis."

Ruby looked at him. "Star, that isn't fair and you know it."

"I'm sorry, but-"

"I know it's hard." She kissed his cheek.

"Am I invisible?" Megatron demanded.

Starscream glared at him. "Hardly," he scowled.

Star Ruby left them to each other.

Seawave had overheard most of the conversation and although she felt Starscream and Razormoon needed to be reprimanded for the inappropriate behaviour in the situation, she was quite cross with Megatron. He could at least give them a final goodbye. She considered asking him, but he'd already put his foot down to that and she knew if she did ask, he would become suspicious of her motives - not even a goodbye - she'd see to that.

"I'm going to my quarters," Starscream said. "It seems as though Meggie here isn't going to change his mind and I'm bored and buggered."

"I don't like your tone, Starscream," Megatron warned.

"And I don't like yours, but of course, you're the leader."

"Exactly."

Starscream harrumphed and left, feeling defeated and upset, and not in the mood to argue any more. He was sick of the sight of Megatron, sick of his voice, sick of everything. Although he did manage to get a few smart remarks in, it didn't have the same triumphant feel as it usually did. He wanted some time alone, time with Razormoon, actually, but his 'Lord and Master' forbade it. At times like this Starscream did indeed feel like a slave and considered going solo.

"Smegatron..." he muttered as he left.

"I heard that!"

"Good!"

Starscream half expected Megatron to come storming after him, and was quite relieved when he didn't. He really wasn't in the mood right now.

He arrived in his quarters and angrily flopped onto his bed and wondered about Razormoon - at least Megatron couldn't stop them thinking about each other.

So there. Nyah.

But of course it just wasn't the same.

* * *

The Razor Seeker regarded her leader.

"I'm sorry Starscream and I lost control at such an crucial moment," Razormoon confessed, "and I fully understand your reason for punishment - but I must know when I'll be able to-"

"That would be telling."

"I don't find that amusing, Megatron." Razormoon paused. "I must be allowed to fare him well before I leave. May-"

"No you may not."

"You're being unreasonable."

"What sort of leader would I be if I made exceptions for everyone?"

"Once again you're right," Razormoon said. "But I can't leave without saying goodbye."

"You'll can and you will. You'll do as I command. At least you're not half as pathetic as Starscream."

Razormoon almost smiled. "I bet he tried ... I would like to see him just once before I leave. There is something important-"

"I don't care! Do not ask me again. I am beginning to lose my patience."

"And I've lost mine!" Razormoon slapped him and stormed out of the room, knowing full well she may have made the situation worse, but she wasn't going to play a timid 'Yes' girl.

At least he's got the good sense not to come storming after a Femme scorned ... she thought as she retreated to her quarters.

WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR

Chapter II

STAR CROSSED

Starscream sat in his quarters. He lost count of the hours he moped. He felt like a prisoner, and even contemplated getting a scalpel to etch the lonely coming weeks on the walls. He passed the time by thinking of many humiliating fates he could bestow upon his beloved leader - some totally ridiculous, like painting him pink, stripping him of all defences, and dumping him at the Autobot's door. Starscream giggled to himself. Too bad he could only imagine the embarrassment Megs would feel - but, hey you know what they say - it's the thought that counts.

He knew no amount of sucking up, butt kissing or proton-bootlicking would help his case. Starscream muttered a vile Ancient Cybertronian curse as he lay down on his resting ledge.

* * *

The following day, Razormoon and Starscream accidentally passed each other in the corridor, afraid to even look at each other, should someone report the wrong thing. Starscream wanted to grab her and kiss her passionately, risking all like he'd seen the hero do in many Earth movies. He could tell Razormoon wanted to do the same, but if they did, he could just see the cyber-shit hitting the fan. He knew the consequences would be dire, and as if their situation wasn't dire enough ... He didn't want to risk losing Razormoon for even longer, and they both continued on their separate ways.

* * *

That night, Seawave visited Razormoon.

"How are you feeling? Like shit?"

The Aerial Seeker gave a humourless smile as she sat down on her resting ledge. "You could say that."

Seawave sat behind her and began to massage her shoulders. "You're so tense, you'll get more aches and pains if you don't relax."

Razormoon did her best to relax herself.

"That's better," Seawave said with a smile, continuing to massage the Jet.

"Thanks," Razormoon said, feeling herself relaxing even more to Seawave's gentle touch. "Mmm ... you're really good at this."

"So everyone tells me," the Neutral smiled. "Few realise the charms of gentle massage."

Razormoon smiled. "I know it was wrong of Starscream and I to lose control and behave the way we did ..."

"Becoming impassioned is nothing to be ashamed of ... Let me tell you a secret, it's over now, but did Starscream tell you, he and I were intimate before he met you?"

Razormoon's eyes widened "You were?"

Seawave nodded. "And it was before I became Neutral."

"When you were an Autobot?" Razormoon seemed dumbfounded.

Seawave nodded and smiled. "We both lost control."

Razormoon laughed. "Anyone catch you?"

"No, thankfully. Shh!"

"My Audio is sealed."

"Of course we're just good friends now, the relationship I have with most Transformers."

"Is must be cool to be friends with both sides."

"It has its merits."

Razormoon leaned against Seawave. "Do that massage thing again. It feels really cool."

Seawave smiled. "Losing control happens to the best of us, And we can't change the past."

"I know ... Although I can understand Megatron's reason for punishment, but to not see Starscream for so long... What if it's years, Seawave? He said at least one year..."

Razormoon looked at her. The Neutral could see the worry in the Seeker's eyes.

"I don't think it'll be that long."

"Damn ... I wish Megatron would let us see each other just once before I leave ... But oh no - he won't ever allow that!" Razormoon bashed her resting ledge, them rubbed her hand, her face conveying her anger, worry and hurt. "I really need to see him ... You see we were planning to..."

Razormoon lowered her voice and confided in Seawave.

After she had finished, Seawave was determined to help Razormoon and Starscream in any way she could even if it meant losing Megatron's trust.

* * *

Megatron had a lot on his mind right now and Starscream and Razormoon weren't exactly occupying his every thought. However, because they had failed to discover what the Autobots were using to disrupt and intercept Decepticon radar and communications, the Decepticons maddeningly had to maintain radio silence. As Megatron imagined, Soundwave was as frustrated, if not even more so than he, and the dark blue Decepticon was working around the clock to re-establish communications. Others may not have noticed, but Megatron saw the frown on his friend's face. The scanners and sensors were on full alert to report of Autobot activity. Keeping the base alert had been a full time job.

Although Megatron had confidence in Soundwave to sort things out.

"I have isolated two of our frequencies and have begun to construct others for future communication," Soundwave informed.

"You're doing a wonderful job, Soundwave. I know I can count on you."

"Thank you, Megatron."

The Decepticon Leader smiled.

* * *

Razormoon had gone for a dip in the Decepticons' heated energon pool. It was quite refreshing, although it didn't refresh her as much as she would have liked. She swam the length of the pool a few times, then waded out to the middle and floated for a while in the pleasant swarming energon liquid. She left when she heard Ramjet and Thrust coming for a dip - not that she didn't like them - she didn't feel like being with anyone right now ... except Starscream ... She used the Auto-dry and then began to retreat to her quarters and entered the elevator, as she heard Ramjet and Thrust yell excitedly as they divebombed into the pool, and began to splash each other, and she couldn't help but smile, at their childlike antics, wishing she could be as happy as they were now and thought back to a time when she and Starscream played like that, not so long ago.

The elevator doors slid apart. Right in front of her stood Starscream. He stood there, forcing himself to remain speechless and calm, whilst fighting the urge to push her back into the life and smooch and make love to her right there and then. Although he did smile at her - he wasn't facing the security camera, however Razormoon was and couldn't return the gesture, as she exited the lift and Starscream entered. Just before the door closed, he stuck his middle finger up at the camera and part of him hoped Megatron was watching.

As it happened, he was, and witnessed Starscream's display of insolence and smiled, and although part of him screamed 'no one does that to me!' under the circumstances, he decided to let it go. This was Starscream after all. Actually part of him was hoping the Jet would actually disobey him, but he surmised the Jet didn't want to lose more than he already had.

* * *

On her way to her quarters, Razormoon barely noticed that she'd walked smack bang into Razormercury. Mercury saw the pain on her fellow Razor sister's face.

"I'm so sorry about what happened..." she said, taking her sister's arm. "Do you wanna talk about it?"

"I thought I wanted to be alone ... but I need someone right now, thanks, Sis."

"It's not fair, dammit!" Razormoon yelled, throwing a Cyber-pillow at the wall, then flopping onto Razormercury's resting ledge.

"I know," her sister confided, gently placing her hands on Razormoon's shoulders.

"Razormars, SabreJuiper, Saturn and I tried to put in a good word for you and Starscream, but I'm afraid ol Meggers didn't even budge."

Razormoon snorted. "Figures. Slaggart!" She could usually control herself, but right now she felt her energies were drained and again that loathing feeling of helplessness overtook her. "One badly timed kiss and then ... this..."

"I know it's rough, Sis, but we did everything we could."

"I know, Girl ... And I appreciate it ... I know it's my and Starscream's fault, but we don't deserve to be punished like this, slag it!"

"I'm with you," Razormercury said, but they both knew there was nothing they could do.

A pause followed.

"Don't worry, Moon," Razormercury said. "We'll take good care of Screamers while you're gone."

For the first time in a long while Razormoon smiled. "Thanks. Keep the bugger out of trouble."

"With what?"

They both burst into laughter, Razormercury glad her sister had finally smiled.

* * *

Razormoon sat alone in her quarters thinking about Starscream. She simply could not get her mind to think of anything or anyone else. Only she knew him this way. To others he was an obnoxious whining, power obsessed traitor, but to her he was sensitive, loving, loyal and sincere and of course the sexiest Transformer alive! In many ways he was like a child. He never seemed to learn from his mistakes and had excuse upon excuse at hand to get him out of the stickiest of situations. Razormoon admired that. He never seemed to run out of smart remarks or ass-saving excuses, however, she had taken it upon herself to bail him out numerous times and his sister Star Ruby and friend Seawave had done their fair share at that too... He always seemed to find one way or another to get into trouble, either he found it or it found him, but usually he found one way or another out of it. Razormoon knew there would be no 'last time.' for him, and she wouldn't have him any other way.

* * *

"You summoned?" Starscream asked, not without his usual sarcastic undertone, which Megatron chose to ignore.

"Yes, Starscream. You and Razormoon were seen in the corridor together yesterday - and you met each other again in Elevator Beta."

Starscream knew he, nor Razormoon had done anything wrong, but the last thing he wanted was for Megatron to take it the wrong way.

"Explain yourself."

"We never made contact ... We were going in opposite directions in the corridor ... I didn't know she was there ... and nothing happened... And when I saw her in the elevator .. I had no idea she was there ... Please believe me ... Check the security cameras ..." Starscream was fretting.

"I know, Starscream," Megatron said. "I saw - both times."

"You what?! ... You had me come here and ... You bugger!"

Megatron shook his finger. "Uh, uh, Starscream ... Anyway, fortunate for you both that nothing did happen ... If you do 'accidentally' see each other again - you'd both better make sure that nothing does happen ... And there you go, Starscream - you got what you wanted - you got to see her twice before she leaves."

"Ha. Very funny."

"As much as you'd like to believe, I didn't just call you here to amuse myself. I want you to monitor outgoing transmissions from Autobot Headquarters - to find out if we're breaking through their interception signals."

"Yes, Megatron," Starscream said, resigned. He didn't think Megatron would let him get away with sticking his finger up this time.

* * *

Seawave knew just how to get Megatron distracted on the last night Razormoon would be on Earth for an entire Earth year perhaps longer. She fed into the computers a few probable new energy sources - enough to keep Megatron and Soundwave busy for a while - so Razormoon and Starscream could spend one last night together. However the Neutral Femme did have her reservations. If Megatron discovered her little deception, he may lose trust in her, and that was important to Seawave as both Decepticon and Autobot alike confided in her and she would usually never do anything to jeopardise that trust - but this was extremely important. It was not just so that Razormoon and Starscream could have one last night of glorious passionate sex for a year. More was st stake - much more. If Megatron knew her reasons, Seawave was sure he'd understand.

The white and pastel Neutral Femme's sneaky little deception worked. She had also fixed the computer to give alternate locations on Starscream and Razormoon and fed security cameras one hour loops of activity in their separate quarters. Megatron had gone with Soundwave to check out various potential new energy sources and felt he had to get to them before the Autobots did, so urgency was of the essence. He'd left Thundercracker in charge, who was quite honoured.

"Enjoy it while you can," Starscream said with a smile.

For a moment Thundercracker thought Starscream would badger him and try to take command in Megatron's absence, which he usually would have done, but he had other plans. "See ya," he said, the light blue and white jet quite baffled indeed.

As Seawave instructed, Starscream waited in his quarters and for Razormoon to join him in twenty. That twenty minutes passed painfully slowly. Nervous, Razormoon approached Starscream's quarters, carrying a laser disc. Seawave carefully erased any traces of her from the security computer.

Razormoon felt her stomach knot as she got closer - what if someone saw her? Seawave signalled her. Razormoon almost gasped when she heard footsteps and manoeuvred herself into a sunken in doorway and watched as Skywarp and Thundercracker walked past. She sighed inwardly as they hadn't even noticed her. This simple walking to Starscream's quarters that she'd done a billion times before seemed to be a long, arduous journey. She looked at the laser disc she had brought with her. It would mean a new future for both her and Starscream.

Razormoon finally reached Starscream's door, and knocked the agreed knock, three fast raps, a three second pause, then two slow raps.

Starscream almost jumped ... The wait had seemed much longer. He leapt up and opened his door, looked around, then grabbed Razormoon, pulled her inside and kissed her passionately.
