Qui~Gon Jinn portrayed by Liam Neeson is wise and powerful Jedi. Qui~Gon discovers young Anakin Skywalker, proving to be a pivotal event to the future of the Jedi and to the entire galaxy for generations to come. Qui~Gon is mentor to the young and headstrong Obi~Wan Kenobi, whom he attempts to instruct in many aspects of the Force, sometimes to the disdain of the Jedi Council. Qui~Gon Jinn is a venerable Jedi, but has been known to take matters into his own hands and defy the wishes of the council from time to time when he feels noble of purpose. A respected and somewhat unconventional Jedi, Qui~Gon Jinn, is also sometimes referred to as a maverick for the way in which he teaches the ways of the Force. He is also Jedi teacher and guardian to young Anakin Skywalker.

An accomplished Jedi Master, Qui~Gon Jinn travels the galaxy to protect the citizens of the Republic and uphold justice from system to system. Other Jedi Masters often use Jinn's focused sensitivity to the Force as an example for their pupils. Qui~Gon Jinn's Padawan (apprentice), Obi~Wan Kenobi, is always at his side, and learns from his wisdom and experience.

Jedi Master Jinn possesses strong features and a piercing gaze. Powerfully built and speaking in a determined voice, he has a very intimidating presence. He wears his long hair tied back so as not to obstruct his peripheral vision. Although a little past his prime, he remains a powerful warrior and a very active Jedi Knight.
