Disclaimers,
Kudos and notes: All songs are owned
by the artists and studios. I lay
absolutely no claim to them. I make no
money, gold pressed latinum, Republic Daitari, etc from this page. Kudos to the artists of these gorgeous,
lovely, moving and powerful songs.
Music lift’s one’s spirit and your magical melodies have brought me
great joy, love and life.
Apologies for any mis-typed lyrics and other errors, though I have endeavoured to transcribe well and give credit.
Please note that I will remove lyrics if I am asked to do so by the artists and/or studios, in respect for the artists. However, I will still list the track title and links where the songs and albums can be purchased from.
Notes: I was inspired by my best mate Annie. She made the first Lore tape of songs that
reminded her about Lore. It was so cool
and I loved it so much, I went crazy making my own. I stopped after number 7.
I thought I had finished.
Lore,
on the other had, had other plans … ;)
With the
help of Annie, Red Skye and Lyric websites, I have transcribed each of the
songs (bar the instrumental ones, of course) and given my feelings on how the
songs and pieces relate to Lore and/or Data.
Some serious, some moving, some silly and funny, some promiscuous J and some well just felt right!
Rating
M –For a few naughtie songs!! ;)

LYRICS TO ABOVE THE LORE
1. FALLING (Julee Cruise, 1989)
Don't let yourself be hurt this time
Don't let yourself be hurt this time
Then I saw your face
Then I saw your smile
The sky is still blue
The clouds come and go
Yet something is different
Are we falling in love...
Don't let yourself be hurt this time
Don't let yourself be hurt this time
Then your kiss so strong
Then your touch, so warm
The stars still shine bright
The mountains still high
Yet something is different
Are we falling in love...
Falling, falling
Falling, falling in love
Falling, falling
Falling, falling in love...
"Don't let yourself be hurt this time" is a lovely line. Lore's had enough pain in his life. This is a nice, gentle, flowing song for Lore. It has an almost mythical tune to it, and it show his feelings, gentle, but strong.
------------------------------
2. STAR BEYOND TIME
There's a star beyond time, floating in space
Waiting for you and me
Though we're planets apart
Love is the bridge, joining our galaxies
Come with me, we'll star trek the unknown
Where no one's ever flown
To one star that we'll make our own
Where the universe ends, our world begins
Somewhere beyond the dawn
On our way to the stars
Millions of lights shine in black sequence times
Strange exotic new worlds, like fantasies
Unfold before our eyes
The lights be so beautiful to see, celestial galaxy
Unfold their story, majesty
Leave tomorrow behind, come and be mine
Journey through time with me
We must go, our star trek to explore,
The place where stars are born
On pathways never known before
When the unknown is known, our journey's through
Then I'll get home with you...
I like this song a lot. Of course
Lore needs a Star Trek song!! It says
to me, that Lore, wants to show the woman he loves everything, aboard his space
ship, and to star trek with her, to explore, and what's waiting is the unknown,
the mystery, and the charm. I'd love
to sing this song for Lore and Trek the
stars with him J (Seawave’s Pick I)

3. SHE'S (HE'S) GOT THE POWER (Jem & the Holograms, 1985) (Animated
Cartoon)
Like a crystal gleamin' bright
Like a prism bendin’ light
She (he)can turn the day into night
She's (he's) got the power...
She's (he's) got the power, power
She's (he's) got the power, power, power
She's (he's) got the power
See the way the candles gleam
Feel the sun throw off his beams
She (he) can turn life into a dream
She's (he's) got the power...
She's (he's) got the power, power
She's (he's) got the power, power, power
She's (he's) got the power
See the way the candles gleam
Feel the sun throw off his beams
She (he) can turn life into a dream
She's (he's) got the power...
She's (he's) got the power, power
She's (he's) got the power, power, power
She's (he's) got the power
She's (he's) got the power to create confusion
Her (his) mastery is no illusion...
She's (he's) got the power, power
She's (he's) got the power, power, power
She's (he's) got the power
She's (he's) got the power, power
She's (he's) got the power, power, power
She's (he's) got the power!
This is a great, vibey song for Lore.
I know it's a little girly, but I think Lore has powers in his own
special way, and if people saw those special power within him, they'd know he
has the power to change and become a better person. And I wouldn't be surprised if he turned around and did make life
a dream either his, or helped someone else, because he does have the
power. It also reminds me of the
Crystalline Entity.

4. THE POWER (Snap, 1990)
They say when you die you go to another world with
white clouds white angels and pearly white cakes. Look, if being black (an android who messed up bad and needs love)
is so wrong, then I don't wanna be right.
Peace --
I've got the power! (the power,
the power)
Quality I possess
So say you're impressed with my voice
Through the rest of the microphone that I an holding
The lyrics so they can't be stolen
They say: "Oh, Snap"
Don't need the police
So peace -- stay off my back, or I will attack,
And you don't want that
I've got the power! (the power,
the power)
I've got the power! (the power,
the power)
I've got the power! (the power,
the power)
I've got the power! (the power,
the power)
The, the, the...the power!
The, the, the...the power!
(... of technology ... to computers .... Sputnik)
I've got the power! (the power,
the power)
I've got the power! (the power,
the power)
I've got the power! (the power,
the power)
I've got the power! (the power,
the power)
The, the, the...the power!
I've got the power! (the power,
the power)
Quality I possess
So say you're impressed with my voice
Through the rest of the microphone that I an holding
The lyrics so they can't be stolen
They say: "Oh, Snap"
Don't need the police
So peace -- stay off my back, or I will attack,
And you don't want that
I've got the power! (the power,
power)
The, the, the...the power!
I've got, the power! (the
power, power) The power
I've got, I've got, I've got the power! (the power, power)
I've got the power! (the power, the power, the power, power!)
He does have the power! It's a
great up-beat song for Lore. He does
have power in his own special way and this a great way to explore that. I can just see him dancing along to this
song! He's not bad, you know.
You were watching me again, weren't you?
(Sweet innocent look) You should see him! He's great!
The spoken line speaks to me deeply also. Is being an android so wrong? Sure he’s made mistakes, but can’t
he be given the chance he never got?
(Seawave’s Pick II)

5. BORN TO BE WILD
(Stephen Wolf, 1969)
Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Lookin' adventure and whatever comes our way
Yeah, darlin' gotta make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all your guns at once and explode into space
I like (?) lightning, heavy metal thunder
Racin' with the wind and the feelin' that I'm under
Yeah, darlin' gotta make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all your guns at once and explode into space
Like a true nature child we were born, born to be wild
And we climb so high, I never wanna die...
Born to be wild
Born to be wild
Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Lookin' adventure and whatever comes our way
Yeah, darlin' gotta make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all your guns at once and explode into space
Like a true nature child we were born, born to be wild
And we climb so high, I never wanna die...
Born to be wild
Born to be wild....
More yeah, yeah, yeah...
This is the wild side of Lore coming out here, well, we all have one,
don't we, except I think Lore's is more exciting! I can just picture him playing electric or air guitar!
I was built to be wiiiiild!!!....
Yeah!

6. CHARIOTS OF FIRE
(Vangelis, instrumental, 1981) 3.20
This is an inspiring piece for Lore.
It symbolises him trying hard to get whet he deserves and not giving up
if it seems to hard, and to always strive what he believes in, through the good
times and the bad. It's a flowing and
moving piece, and I can picture Lore clearly when I listen to it.
And remember Liqueur and Tequila!! From my parody fic BAAAAAAR Trek:
D-Generation Over the Limit ;)

7. I WANT TO LIVE (John Denver, 1977)
There are children raised in sorrow
On a scorched and barren plain
There are children raised beneath the golden sun
There are children of the water, children of the sand
And they cry out through the universe
Their voices raised as one...
I wanna live, I wanna grow,
I wanna see, I wanna know
I wanna share what I can give
I wanna be. I wanna live
Have you gazed out on the ocean
Seen the breaching of a whale,
Have you watched the dolphins frolic in the foam
Have you heard the song the humpback hears
Five hundred miles away
Telling tales of ancient history, of passages and home
I wanna live, I wanna grow,
I wanna see, I wanna know
I wanna share what I can give
I wanna be. I wanna live
For the worker and the warrior,
The lover and the liar
For the native and the wanderer in kind
For the maker and the user,
For the mother and her son
I am looking for my family and all of you are mine
We are standing all together, face to face, arm in arm
We are standing on the threshold of a dream
No more hunting, no more killing
No more wasting life away
It is simply an idea and I know its time has come
I wanna live, I wanna grow,
I wanna see, I wanna know
I wanna share what I can give
I wanna be. I wanna live and I
wanna grow
I wanna see and I wanna know
I wanna share what I can give
I wanna be. I wanna live
I wanna live, and I wanna grow,
I wanna see, I wanna know
I wanna share what I can give
I wanna be. I wanna live
I wanna live... I want to live...
This is a beautiful song for Lore. I wanted it the moment I
heard it! It's wrong to take someone's
life away, and Lore is regretting what he's done, but he wants to live - and he
can't do that when he's disassembled.
He will learn to accept his family for who they are and through that,
they will learn to accept and love him.
In many ways, Lore is like a child.
He has so much to give, but he has kept it hidden. He needs to show people what he can
give. Lore wants to experience life -
what it is like to really live and in doing that, he'll be growing and
learning, which is what he needs - he will live and learn how to express his
feelings and ideas. This is an
excellent song to express those. (Seawave’s
Pick III)

8. BLAZE OF GLORY (Jon Bon Jovi, 1989)
Wake up in the morning and I raise my weary head
I got an old coat for a pillow
And the earth was last night's bed
I don't know where I'm goin'
Only God knows where I've been
I'm a devil on the run
A six-gun lover, a candle in the wind....Yeah
According to this world
Well they say you're born with sin
But at least they gave me somethin'
I didn't have to steal or have to win
Well they tell me that I'm wanted, yeah I'm a wanted man
I'm a ghost in your stable
I'm a Cain once an Able to Mr. catch me if you can...
I'm goin' down in a blaze of glory
Take me down, but know the truth
I'm goin' out in a blaze of glory
But Lord, I never drew first, but I drew first blood
Lord, I'm no one's son
Call me Young Gun....
You ask about my conscience and I offer you my soul
You ask if I'll grow to be a wise man,
Well I ask if I'll grow old
You ask me if I've known love and what it's like
To sing songs in the rain
Well I've seen love come
I've seen it shot down
I've seen it die in vain
Shot
Down in a blaze of glory
Take me down, but know the truth
I'm goin' down in a blaze of glory
But Lord, I never drew first, but I drew first blood
Lord, I'm a devil's son
Call me Young Gun....
Each night I go to bed I pray the Lord my soul to keep
No, I ain't lookin' for forgiveness
But before I'm six foot deep
Lord, I gotta ask a favour, and I hope you'll understand
Cause I've lived life to the fullest
Let this boy die like a man
Starin' down a bullet (phaser) let me make my final stand
Shot
Down in a blaze of glory
Take me down, but know the truth
I'm goin' out in a blaze of glory
Lord, I never drew first, but I drew first blood
Lord, I'm a no one's son
Call me Young Gun
I'm a Young Gun...Young Gun,
Yeah, yeah, Young Gun...
I cried when I heard this song.
It has muchas guts and balls and it reminded me so much of what happened
to Lore at the end of Descent II.
(Boo! Hisssssss) … He wants
Data to love him and care about
him. He only drew his phaser in self
defence, and he wants to be forgiven for the things he's done, but he doesn't
exactly know how to go about it and he doesn't want to doe, no one does, not in
vain. He's young and he needs to be
forgiven to start his like again. (Seawave’s
Pick IV)

9. CANDLE IN THE
WIND (Elton John, 1974)
Goodbye Norma Jean
Though I never knew you at all
You had the grace to hold yourself
While those around you crawled
They crawled out of the woodwork
And they whispered into your brain
They set you on the treadmill
And they made you change your name
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you,
But I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did
Loneliness was tough
The toughest role you ever played
Hollywood created a superstar
And pain was the price you paid
Even when you died
Oh, the press still hounded you
All the papers had to say
Was that Marilyn was found in the nude
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you,
But I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did
Goodbye Norma Jean
Though I never knew you at all
You had the grace to hold yourself
While those around you crawled
Goodbye Norma Jean
From the young man in the 22nd row
Who sees you as something more than sexual
More that just our Marilyn Monroe
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you,
But I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did
A lot of the words are wrong here, but I feel it's a good, but sad song
for Lore. He was hounded by others, and
forced into things he didn't initially intend to do. And he had a lot of pain, knowing he could perhaps do better with
himself, but at first, those around him (the colonists) saw him as just a
thing, as Hollywood saw Marilyn (Norma Jean) as a thing for making money. And we see Lore as more, but the one thing
is that Lore can be repaired and come back, and he is a legend in his own way,
and he will come back.

10. SORRY SEEMS TO BE THE HARDEST WORD (Elton John, 1976) 3.37
What have I got to do to make you love me
What have I got to do to make you care
What do I do when lightning strikes me
And I wake to find that you're not there
What do I do to make want me
What have I got to do to be heard
What do I say when it's all over
And sorry seems to be the hardest word
It's so sad, (so sad) so sad
It's a sad, sad situation
And it's getting more and more absurd
It's so sad, (so sad) so sad
Why can't we talk it over
Oh, it seems to me
That sorry seems to be the hardest word
It's so sad, (so sad) so sad
It's a sad, sad situation
And it's getting more and more absurd
It's so sad, (so sad) so sad
Why can't we talk it over
Oh, it seems to me
That sorry seems to be the hardest word
What do I do to make you love me
Ohh, what have I got to do to be heard
What do I do when lightning strikes me
What have I got to do
What have I got to do
When sorry seems to be the hardest word...
Most of the words are perfect! Lore wants to apologise to Data, but he's finding it hard and perhaps he doesn’t really know how to. He wants Data to care for him, but wants to know what he should do. He knows he was wrong, and wants to make up for it, but he needs Data to guide him.
------------------------------
11. BLUE EYES (YELLOW EYES) (Elton John, 1982)
Blue eyes, baby's got blue eyes (Yellow eyes)
Like a deep blue sea
On a blue, blue day
Blue eyes, baby's got blue eyes (Yellow eyes)
When morning comes, I'll be far away, and I say
Blue eyes (Yellow eyes) holding back the tears,
Holding back the pain
Baby's got blue eyes (Yellow eyes)
And she's (he's)alone again
Blue eyes, baby's got blue eyes (Yellow eyes)
Like a clear blue sky,
Watching over me
Blue eyes, ohh, I love blue eyes (Yellow eyes)
When I'm by her (his) side
Where I long to be I will see
Blue eyes (Yellow eyes) laughing in the sun,
Laughing in the rain
Baby's got blue eyes (Yellow eyes)
And I am home, and I am home again
Blue eyes (Yellow eyes) laughing in the sun,
Laughing in the rain
Baby's got blue eyes (Yellow eyes)
And I am home again...
This is a good song for Lore, as it describes how he hides his pain
behind his eyes, and he longs to be free to express himself, but doesn't know
how, and he has an almost childlike innocence to him, but he's not sure how to
express him feelings properly to others, and when he learns, and people accept
him fro who he is, them he'll truly be home.
--------------------------------
12. DON'T CRY FOR ME
ARGENTINA (Julie Covington, version 1976)
It won't be easy, you'll think it's strange
When I try to explain how I feel
That I still need your love after all that I've done
You won't believe me
All you see is a girl (person) you once knew
Although she's dressed up to the nines
At sixes and sevens with you
I had to let it happen
I had to change couldn't stay all my life down at heel
Looking out of the window, staying out of the sun
So I choose freedom
Running around trying everything new,
But nothing impressed me at all
I never expected it to
Don't cry for me Argentina
The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days
My mad existence,
I kept my promise, don't keep your distance
And as for fortune, and as for fame,
I never invited them in,
Though it seemed to the world they were all I desired
They are illusions
They're not the solutions they promised to be
The answer was here all the time
I love you and hope you love me
Don't cry for me Argentina
Don't cry for me Argentina....
The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days
My mad existence,
I kept my promise, don't keep your distance
Have I said to much...
There's nothing more I can think of to say to you
But all you have to do
Is look at me to know that every word is true...
I have always loved this song – and its is also a wonderful song for Lore, despite some words which don't quite fit. Lore wants to explain how he feels, but he's not sure others will understand. He wants Data to care for him and love him, but after all he's done, he's not sure if that's possible, so he wants to apologize in the best way they he can and hopes Data and others understand the way he feels and help him.
-----------------------------
13. DON'T LET THE SUN
GO DOWN ON ME (Elton John, 1974)
I can light to no more of your darkness
All my pictures seem to fade to black and white
I'm growing tired and time stands still before me
Frozen here on the ladder of my life
Too late to save myself from falling
I took a chance and changed your way of life
But you misread my meaning when I met you
Closed the door and left me blinded by the light
Don't let the sun go down on me, (don't let the sun)...
Although I search myself it's always someone else I see
I'd just allow a fragment of your life to wander free
But losing everything is like the sun going down on me
I can't find, oh, the right romantic line
But see me once and see the way I feel
Don't discard me just because you think I mean you harm
But these cuts I have, oh, they need love to help them heal
Don't let the sun go down on me, (don't let the sun)...
Although I search myself it's always someone else I see
I'd just allow a fragment of your life to wander free
But losing everything is like the sun going down on me
Don't let the sun go down on me, (don't let the sun)...
Although I search myself it's always someone else I see
I'd just allow a fragment of your life to wander free, yeah...
But losing everything is like the sun going down on me...
Most of the words of this song are prefect! It’s a great song for Lore.
This song is Lore asking for forgiveness and another chance from Data,
and for Data to understand how he feels and help him through this new chance,
and love him, bridging the gap between them, and Lore pleading Data not to give
up on him.
------------------------------
14. SAD SONGS SAY SO
MUCH (Elton John, 1984)
Guess there are times when we all need to share a little pain
And ironing out the rough spots
Is the hardest part when memories remain
And its times like these when we all need to hear the radio
Cause from the lips of some old singer
We share the troubles we already know
Turn 'em on, turn 'em on,
Turn on those sad songs (sad songs)
When all hope is gone
Why don't you tune in and turn 'em on
They reach into your room, whoa, oh, oh, oh
Just feel their gentle touch (gentle touch)
When all hope is gone
Sad songs say so much
If someone else is suffering enough, oh, to write it down
When every single word makes sense
Then it's easier to have those songs around
The kick inside is in the line that finally gets to you
And it feels so good to hurt so bad
And suffer just enough to sing the blues
So turn 'em on, turn 'em on,
Turn on those sad songs (sad songs)
When all hope is gone
Why don't you tune in and turn 'em on
They reach into your room, whoa, oh, oh, oh
Just feel their gentle touch (gentle touch)
When all hope is gone
Sad songs say so much
Sad songs they say, sad songs they say
Sad songs they say, sad songs they say so much...
So turn 'em on, turn 'em on,
Turn on those sad songs (sad songs)
When all hope is gone
Why don't you tune in and turn 'em on
They reach into your room, whoa, oh, oh, oh
Just feel their gentle touch (gentle
touch)
When all hope is gone
You know sad songs say so much
When every little bit of hope is gone
Sad songs say so much
When every little bit of hope is gone
Sad songs say so much
When all hope is gone, sad songs...
Both Lore and I like this song! It's a good song to listen to if you're sad and have a lot of pain, and it's not slow and sad, like sad songs mostly are, and Lore has a lot of inner pain to deal with, so it's good for him to learn how to del with it. Perhaps one day, he'll grow be able to leave the pain behind and focus on other things in life, and move forward, and I believe he has the power within him to do just that.

15. LIVE IT UP
(Mental As Anything, 1986)
How can you see, lookin' through those tears,
Don't you know you're worth your weight in gold
I can't believe that you're alone in here
Let me warm your hands against the coal
A close encounter with a hard hearted man
Who never gave after what he got
Has makes you wish that you've never been born
That's a shame, because you've got the lot
Hey there you with the sad face, come to my place
Live it up
You beside the dance floor, what do you cry for
Live it up
If you smile the walls fall down
On all the people in this pick-up joint
But if you laugh you'll level this town
Hey lonely girl that's just the point
Hey there you with the sad face, come to my place
Live it up
You beside the dance floor, what do you cry for
Live it up
Just answer me the question why
You stand alone by the phone, In the corner...cry
Hey!
How can you see, lookin' through those tears,
Don't you know you're worth your weight in gold
I can't believe that you're alone in here
Let me warm your hands against the coal
If you smile the walls fall down
On all the people in this pick-up joint
But if you laugh you'll level this town
Hey lonely girl that's just the point
Hey there you with the sad face, come to my place
Live it up
You beside the dance floor, what do you cry for
Live it up ... Let's live it up... live it up
Mmm, live it up
Hey there you with the sad face, come to my place
Come to my place baby,
Hey there you with the sad face, come to my place
Live it up
You beside the dance floor, what do you cry for
Live it up
You with the sad face, come to my place
Live it up
You beside the dance floor, what do you cry for
Live it up
I’ve always loved this song – even when I first heard it! It’s a great vibey up-beat, feel-good song
for Lore. It shows that there are people
that are going to help him through his pain and that he doesn't have to suffer
alone - people will be there with him and for him - people to love him, accept
him and care for him. The whole world
isn't against him, and the people who are will eventually learn that Lore can
change and there are people willing to help him do that.

16. CATCH ME, I'M
FALLING (Real Life, 1984)
I lay down to rest my head,
My soul to keep that night I dreamt
It's no dream
Slumber comes and darkness falls
And shadows dance across my walls
It's no dream
Well I never sleep alone
My dream's become so real to me
I... wake up, don't sleep
The night is young
Catch me, I'm falling, down again
I know it's a dream, but, just the same...
There's a face before my eyes
The eyes are closed
I can't recognise
The danger there
Slumber comes and darkness falls
And shadows dance across my walls
It's no dream
Well I never sleep alone
My dream's become so real to me
I...wake don't sleep
The night is young
Catch me, I'm falling, down again
I know it's a dream, but, just the same...
Catch me, I'm falling, falling
Catch me, I'm falling, down again
I know it's a dream, but, just the same...
Catch me, I'm falling, down again
I know it's a dream, but just the same...
I'm falling, I'm falling,
Catch me, I'm falling...I'm falling,
Catch me, I'm falling...I'm falling,
Catch me, I'm falling...I'm falling,
Catch me, I'm falling...
This is a wonderful song for Lore and it has an excellent tune! It's sad in a way also. It's Lore asking
Data to help him, so he doesn't do the wrong thing again. Perhaps Data can help him in time, and stop
Lore from falling further. Lore's
scared that if someone doesn't help him, then he may never stop falling, and it
may be a dream, but it's so real to him and he need someone there for him. (Seawave’s Pick V)

17. I THINK IT'S GONNA
RAIN TODAY (Bette Midler, 1988)
Broken windows and empty hall ways,
A paled moon and the skies streaked with grey
Human kindness is overflowing
And I think it's gonna rain today
Scarecrows dressed in the latest styles
Frozen smiles to chase love away
Human kindness is overflowing
And I think it's gonna rain today
Lonely, lonely
Tin can at my feet
I think I'll kick it down the street
That's the way to treat a friend
Bright before me, the signs implore me
Help the needy and show them the way
Human kindness is overflowing
And I think it's gonna rain today
Lonely, so lonely
Tin can at my feet
I think I'll kick it down the street
That's the way to treat a friend
Bright before me, the signs implore me
Help the needy and show them the way
Human kindness is overflowing
And I think it's gonna rain today
I like this song a lot for Lore. It shows that he has changed for the better, in the way that he
wants to help people and show them the way, and it also shown him that humans
aren't all a bunch of doofusses, and there are many who would be willing to
help him, and their kindness is over flowing.
Perhaps the rain symbolises Lore letting his troubles be washed away
with it, or perhaps learning to deal with them.

18. THE GLORY OF LOVE
(Bette Midler, 1988)
You've got to give a little, take a little
And let your poor heart break a little
That's the story of, that's the glory of love
You've got to laugh a little, cry a little
Until the clouds roll by a little
That's the story of, that's the glory of love
As long as there's the two of us
We've got the world and all its charms
And when the world is through with us
We've got each other's arms
You've got to win a little,
lose a little
Yes, always have the blues a little
That's the story of, that's the glory of love
That's the story of, that's the glory of love...
This is a short, sweet song for Lore.
It tells him that it's okay to cry and love and that love isn't always a
bed of roses, and that there's emotional pain involved, but without it, there wouldn't
be love, and that it's okay to feel pain - that's all part of love.

19. ST. ELMO'S FIRE
(David Foster, instrumental, 1985)
I've always loved this piece.
It's a beautiful, flowing, peace for Lore, to explore his inner
feelings. It has a peaceful, loving
tune. Perhaps Lore should lie down
somewhere, close his eyes, and listen to this and think about his life and how
he wants to make it better, and let himself drift freely in his innermost
feelings. This is a powerful peace,
which I believe will help Lore, when he discoverers his deep inner
feelings. He wants to love, and be
loved, sort things out with his brother, and he needs someone or something to
help him do that. Perhaps through
listening to people who care about him, or inspirational pieces, such as this
one, he'll gain the courage to do that, and it's okay for him to cry, because
he'll be deeply exploring facets of his personality and emotions which he has
kept suppressed almost all his life and he has our best wishes.

20. JEALOUSY IS A
CURSE (Noiseworks, 1991)
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Every time I get the feeling I'm sane
Jealousy walks in cuts me down again
Just like the enemy in my brain...
Just like the enemy in my brain...
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
(Jealousy) It's driving me insane (jealousy)
Jealousy, jealousy is a curse
The enemy in my brain ... (Jealousy, yeah)
Keeps coming out like poison in my veins
A suicidal sweat
And the teardrops fall like rain
Just like the enemy in my brain...
Just like the enemy in my brain...
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
(Jealousy) It's driving me insane (jealousy)
Jealousy, jealousy is a curse
The enemy in my brain...(Jealousy, yeah)
Fear, fear, fear
Oohh...oohhh
Like the enemy in my brain makes me feel so strange
When it's in my head I get confused
And I abuse and I don't know what to do
Fear!
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Jealousy yeah, jealousy Wooo!
Jealousy, jealousy yeah, jealousy ...
This is a good song for Lore to deal with his jealousy and animosity
toward Data. He doesn't want to be
jealous, so if he deals with those feelings and accepts Data for who he is and
realizes that it's not Data's fault for the way things turned out for him, and
tried to get along better with his brother, things would work out better for
both of them.

21. TRUE COLOURS (Cyndi Lauper, 1986)
You with the sad heart
Don't be discouraged, don't worry your lives
It's hard to take courage in a world full of people
You can no side of your own
The darkness (?) in side you make you feel so small
But I see your true colours shinin' through
I see your true colours, that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your colours true, true colours are beautiful like a rainbow
Show me a smile then
Don't be unhappy
Can't remember when last I saw you happy
If this world makes you crazy
And you taken all you can then
You call me up because you know I'll be there
And I see your true colours shinin' through
I see your true colours, and that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let it show
Your colours true, your true colours are beautiful like a rainbow
Can't remember when I last saw you laugh...
If this world makes you crazy
You taken all you can then
You call me up because you know I'll be there
And I see your true colours shining through
I see your true colours, and that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let it show
Your colours true, true colours, true colours are shining through
I see your true colours, and that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colours, true colours, are beautiful like a rainbow
I like this song for Lore, (even if it’s sounds a bit girly J because if he let's his true colours show, people will know that he's
not all bad, but he holds back a lot and he's afraid to let people know who he
really is because it'll make him vulnerable, but he's got to realize that if
people don't see who he really is they'll always see him as 'evil' and reject
him, so he needs the courage to show people who he really is and I believe he
can do it.

22. TWO PRINCES (Spin Doctors, 1993)
Yeah!
One, two Princes here before you
That's what I said now
Princes, Princes who adore you
Just go ahead now
One has diamonds in his pockets
And not some bread
This one said he wants to buy you rockets
And it's in his head now
Eh, ya, ya,
This one got a princely racket
That's what I said now
Got some big signal on his jacket
You marry this one your father will condone you
How 'bout that now
You marry me your father will disown you
You lead his hand now
Marry him, or marry me
I'm the one looking for can't you see
I ain't got no future or family tree, but
I know what a prince in love
Is supposed to be
I know what a prince in love
Is supposed to be
Said if you want to call me baby,
Just go ahead now
And if you like to tell me maybe,
Just go ahead now
And if you wanna buy me flowers,
Just go ahead now
And if you would like to talk for hours,
Just go ahead now
Said, one, two Princes here before you
That's what I said now
Princes, Princes who adore you
Just go ahead now
One has diamonds in his pockets
And not some bread
This one wants to buy you rockets
And it's in his head now
Marry him, or marry me
I'm the One you're lookin' for can't you see
I ain't got no future or family tree, but
But I know what a prince in love
Is supposed to be
But I know what a prince in love
Is supposed to be
Said if you want to call me baby,
Just go ahead now
And if you like to tell me maybe,
Just go ahead now
And if you wanna buy me flowers,
Just go ahead now
And if you would like to talk for hours,
Just go ahead now
And if you want to call me baby,
Just go ahead now
And if you would like to tell me maybe,
Just go ahead now
And if you would like to buy me flowers,
Just go ahead now
And if you would like to talk for hours,
Just go ahead now
If you want to call me baby,
Just go ahead now
And if you'd like to tell me maybe,
Just go ahead now
If you wanna buy me flowers,
Just go ahead now
And if you like to talk for hours,
Just go ahead now
Oh, oh, oh, oh baby,
Just go ahead now, oh, oh, oh, just, just, come on, come on
Go ahead now
Oh, oh, oh, your majesty...Go ahead now
Come on, forget the king and marry me
Just go ahead now
Come on, come on, come on...Just go ahead...
Go ahead no, go ahead now, yeah, yeah, just go ahead now
Yeah, if you want to buy me flowers,
Go ahead now, yeah, just go ahead now, baby...
Man, I love this song!!!
Data and Lore competing for us, eh.
They are like two princes, aren't they.
I have no doubt that Data will talk for hours, but as
for the maybe, flowers and all the rest, leave that to me. How many rockets did you want anyway?
*It is not fair. You always
get the fun things to do, Lore.*
Ohh, all right, Data.
You can talk for days.
J
But I think this song has a certain charm to it for both of them. (Seawave’s Pick VI) – Lotsa
good songs here!

23. CHANGE OF HEART
(Cyndi Lauper, 1986)
Here I am, just as I thought I would be
I'm your friend
Just like you think it should be
Did you think I would stand here and lie
While our moments are passing us by
Oh, why I'm here waiting for your change of heart
It just takes a beat to turn it around
Yes, I'm waiting your change of heart
At the edge of my seat
Please turn it around
Days go by, leaving me with a hunger
I could fly back to when we were younger
When adventures like cards we would buy
And the years lie ahead still untried
While I stand here
Here waiting for your change of heart
It just takes a beat to turn it around
Yes, I'm waiting your change of heart
At the edge of my seat
Please turn it around
Turn it around, round, around, yeah,
Turn it around, round, around
Turn it, turn it, turn it around
Blind leading blind
Never feel the laughter
But sometimes nothing fulfils the answer
Yes, it's truth that you're looking to find
It is nowhere outside of your mind
I find my time
Waiting for your change of heart
It just takes a beat to turn it around
Yes, I'm waiting your change of heart
At the edge of my seat
Please turn it around
Yes I'm waiting for your change of heart
It just takes a beat to turn it around
Yes, I'm waiting your change of heart
At the edge of my seat
Please turn it around
Turn it around, round, around, yeah,
Turn it around, round, around
Turn it, turn it, turn it around, round, around
Turn it, turn it, turn it around....
And I'm waiting for your change of heart, oo, oo, ooh
Waiting for your change of heart...
This could be either Lore speaking to himself or Data talking to
him. Lore has it within himself to have
a change of heart, he just has to step out of his 'comfort zone' and do it, and
he will have people to support him and help him, once they understand him.
